INTRODUCTION:

A staple Davis Dainty Dish prepared and enjoyed for over 100 years. This recipe was a Davis family favourite and is so easy to prepare. You’ll be the talk of the party when you serve this homemade classic.

YOU WILL NEED:
  • 1 teaspoon Davis Gelatine
  • 4 tablespoon hot water
  • 3 dessertspoons golden syrup
  • Vanilla essence
  • 2 heaped tablespoons powder milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 oz. fresh milk
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Dissolve gelatine in hot water
  2. Add golden syrup, stirring till quite thin and blended well
  3. Add powdered milk and salt to fresh milk – beat till completely dissolved
  4. Add gelatine mixture – Beat well
  5. Freeze to a soft mush, then beat till the quantity is doubled.
  6. A little brown or caramel colouring may be added, also walnut crumbs or shredded almonds
  7. Finish freezing
  8. Enjoy
